Zachary Levi and Joshua Gomez said a lot of things about the third season of “Chuck” Wednesday night. A few of them may even be true.

The two stars of NBC’s cult favorite were clearly having a good time as they joshed with reporters at the network’s press tour party. As I entered their orbit, they were discussing Levi’s rather impressive beard (Gomez’s facial hair was also a little thicker than when we last saw him on the show) and how it might fit into the show.

“… We’re ice truckers that end up getting fired, then we go on ‘Deadliest Catch,’ then we had a short stint on ‘Ax Men,’” Levi explains. “You’ve actually probably already seen all this — it’s already aired. But we use some of it as B-roll in the season.”

“It’s a great crossover,” Gomez adds.

Things only got weirder from there. Here, as best I can replicate it, is a transcript.

What I learned from my “Chuck” trip to WonderCon

Contains a few Spoilers!

From the Preview:

  • Chuck’s dad, played by Scott Bakula, is named Stephen J. Bartowski
  • Big Mike is bangin’ Morgan’s mom.
  • Big Mike is possibly going to upgrade Morgan’s employee status at the Buy More
  • It’s funny to hear Emmitt Milbarge say “Well bring it on bitches!”
  • Awesome has a bachelor party that John Casey actually attends! The strippers are not what they had hoped for so I’m thinking Jeff and Lester had something to do with it?
  • Agent Forrest seduces Captain Awesome and it looks like he enjoyed it.
  • We saw scenes from versus the Beefcake, which airs tonight.
  • While outside of the Ellie and Chuck’s apartment, we see Sarah telling Chuck, “Ellie is watching, we better sell it.” Hmm… rough times for Charah?
  • Charah moment: Chuck to Sarah: “I just want to be able to tell Ellie the truth. About who I am and what I do and how I really feel about you. I can’t believe how much the United States government has hurt the people that I love.”
Sarah: “Well maybe it’s time for the United States government to help you.”
  • Sarah helps Chuck find his dad. Before Chuck’s dad opens the door to his trailer, it looks like Chuck and Sarah were having a little moment.
  • The last time Ellie saw her dad was when he told her he was going to go make some pancakes.
  • Chuck talks to Ellie about forgiving their dad because he’s all they’ve got. What does this mean? No Mama Bartowski? Where are all the moms at?
  • Another Charah moment: Chuck: “I am going to get this thing out of my head, one day I will, and when I do, I will live the life that I want with the girl that I love.” Me?
  • Arnold Vosloo is a bad ass who asks Chuck why he would tell his team not to bring guns on a mission. Chuck answers: Guns make things too easy and I like my spies to be tough. Queue Casey firing his gun at Arnold Vosloo’s character. Chuck to Casey: “You had a gun?” Casey to Chuck: “I always have a gun.”
  • Chuck to possibly go in a bunker? Or does Beckman just want a ‘hang out’ buddy?
  • Ted Roark has a scene where he tells his men to kill the CIA agent (Chuck). Stephen Bartowski replies: he’s my son! To that TR says: “Congratulations! Kill his son.” Read the rest of this entry »

Star Zachary Levi dished to us all about the famous faces that are coming to play this season, including Michael Clarke Duncan, John Larroquette, Nicole Richie, Tony Hale and … Alf?

Also, find out the fellow NBC star he’s most mistaken for, why he called himself a douchebag and what possible (OK, totally improbable) future storyline he let slip about a team of midget ninjas. No kidding.

Working alongside Michael Clarke Duncan, did you ever get the feeling that he could just crush you with his bare hands?
Yeah, he’s a behemoth of a man. What’s crazy though is he’s not a big fan of heights. I’m fine with them … especially when I’m all wired up. I know they’re not gonna drop me. You know, I’m hanging out the window between takes and whatever and Michael’s like, “Hey man, you OK? You sure you’re doing alright?” [Laughs]

And John Larroquette — what an amazing casting choice for an ex-spy!
Wasn’t he incredible? He said, “I checked out the show and I really liked what you guys were doing, so I wanted to come and do it.” And I was like “What? You? John Larroquette … Night Court, Stripes … you like what we’re doing?” That’s the ultimate compliment when someone you respect that much enjoys what you do.

But you also have Tony Hale, Nicole Richie, Jordana Brewster, Melinda Clark … it seems like everyone is lining up for a Chuck guest spot!
They’re all coming in, yeah. Alf, Ricky Schroder, we’re gonna get both Gary Coleman and Emmanuel Lewis. They’re gonna be like this midget ninja team … [Laughs]

Oh, Gary Coleman … but you do have Gary Cole, right?
Yeah, Gary Cole! “Peter — what’s happening? Listen, uh, did you get that memo?” That was the first thing I said to Gary Cole in the hair and make-up trailer and immediately I was like, I’m the same douchebag this guy meets every day.

[Laughs] So has it gotten hard for you to leave the house without people recognizing you?
No! I honestly think people look at me and they’re so used to seeing me in the white shirt and the tie — unless I’m in that, they don’t make the connection. If anything, they think I’m John Krasinski. [Laughs] But hey, if I could be compared to anybody, you know, he’s a good-looking, talented guy. Whatever.

Do you think he looks like John Krasinski?
