BURBANK, Calif. ? September 4, 2008 - The worlds of football, music and television will collide Friday, Sept.5 in a one-hour primetime special on NBC at 9:00 p.m. (ET/PT) with “The NFL Kickoff Special on NBC Presented by EA Sports.” The show will preview both the 2008 NFL season and NBC’s Fall TV lineup.

The show will be hosted by stars from NBC shows, including ZACHARY LEVI (”Chuck”) and ALISON SWEENEY (”The Biggest Loser,” “Days Of Our Lives”). NFL Network hosts RICH EISEN and DEION SANDERS also will appear in the show.
The musical performances and hosts will be taped Thursday, Sept. 4 in New York City’s Columbus Circle as a part of a free concert leading up to the NFL season opener on NBC. The first game features the Super Bowl XLII champions New York Giants against NFC East division foe Washington Redskins at Giants Stadium at 7:00 PM ET. The game also will be streamed on NBCSports.com and NFL.com, the first-ever streaming of a full NFL game in the U.S.
I say that as if I really care about Band From TV, which you might recall (unless you’ve been fortunate enough to block out that Idol Gives Back “Before He Cheats” performance) features actors James Denton, Greg Grunberg, Jesse Spencer, Bob Guiney, Bonnie Somerville, and Teri Hatcher. But here’s the thing, I just watched this crappy clip (below) from a recent Netflix LIVE! On Location event in Los Angeles, where Chuck’s Zachary Levi joined the group to duet with The Bachelor’s Guiney on “The Letter,” and I found myself actually wishing the sound quality was better.
Apparently, Hayden Panettiere, Adrian Pasdar (even hotter holding a guitar!), and Jorge Garcia also jam with the band. Watch Garcia take on “Mustang Sally” after the jump. Is he decent, or is that just a song it’s impossible to screw up? (Note: Turn your volume down. Hayden’s a screamer.)
