Woke up around 3:30 am to be out of the house by 4:30 am—arrived at the convention center around 5. I’d say about 75 people were already in line when I got there. Boo.
I attempted to sleep a little but couldn’t. I decided to look at every single person that walked by with the “I got here before you” look. Muahaha.
The “Elite” security let us in around 7:15ish and I fast walked to the Ballroom 20 line. A little arguing—perhaps just confusion—about where the front of the line was. Result: I was in the right line.
After that, there was just some moving of the line to make room for the 2500 people trying to get into the ballroom and some more waiting.
9ish am: they start letting us in!
My seat: 2nd row, center-ish with Sepinwall directly in front of me
The Panel:
Retrospective Season 2 Reel shown that ended with Chuck knowing kung fu. I could have swore there was a slight fake out with the lights because I personally thought it was over but then the screen read “One Month Later”
Josh Schwartz, Chris Fedak, and Zac were in Josh Schwartz’s office eating Subway footlongs trying to accept that Season 2 was probably the end for Chuck. Zac was a like Waaah? Over? Josh and Chris: Yupp, probably (somewhere along those lines). Phone rings. Schwartz: Well… we’ve been renewed. Zac was excited, ready to work hard. Chris was surprised because Chuck knows kung fu. He has no ideas. But wait… they’ve got it… Jeffster!
Out comes our favorite duo rockin’ the stage with Queen’s “Fat Bottomed Girls.” Ballroom 20 goes crazy! Cameras out, flashes everywhere. The rest of the cast joins the two during the chorus. Zac stands on a chair and gets into it himself. The whole cast gets into it—showing us once again how awesome the group are.
Josh Schwartz says thank you for the “Save Chuck Campaign.”
Some infoshizzle: JGo was wearing pink underwear (first pointed out by Adam); Zac has been playing a lot of video games for his fight training; Zac says that his best friend from the cast if Josh, Yvonne got a “you’re hot” cat call; Morgan will get a second chance with Carina; something emotional and traumatic will happen between Chuck and Sarah but JS promises that it will be really, really good.
Zac’s dad was in the audience?; CF has always wanted to write about an Ellie/Casey moment; fans would like a Chuck musical; Awesome will enter into the spy world leaving Ellie to be comforted by Morgan (teehee); chuck out CHUCKMEOUT.COM; Buy More stays.
Panel ends with the cast standing and applauding out to the audience.
The Signing:
Craziness at the WB Booth. Confusion about where the line will be forming. With more than an hour before the signing, an announcement: “Welcome to the WB Booth. If you are here for Chuck, the line has been capped.” What? HUH? What? HUH? Queue in the disappointed fans (including me).
I decided to wander around the booth anyway just to take some pics and see if I can get lucky at the end of the panel and just ask Scott, Mark, and Vik to sign the Wii I brought last year.
Wandering around isn’t easy on a Saturday at Comic Con. It took me around 10 minutes to make my way around the booth because of the massive lump of people around the signing area.
Circled the booth around 3 times so that I don’t risk being yelled at by the CC security/staff. 15 minutes before the signing was over, people spot C.S. Lee. He goes inside the ropes to say hello to the cast and as he is leaving, I ask him for his autograph. It’s Harry Tang people!
I notice that Scott, Mark, and Vik were still waiting for the next person to come around the corner to get their autograph so I raise the Wii toward Scott and he took it. Yay. So did Mark and Vik. Mission accomplished! Thanks WB, I’m not bummed anymore.
I also got Yvonne to sign my phone. She was in front of me so I ask her if she can sign the thing that I was holding in my hand at that moment. She didn’t have to because she needed to go but she did. I just thought you all should know. Thanks, Yvonne!
After the signing, Zac, Josh, and Adam decide to play a little RockBand. They put on a show and the fans could not get enough. We love Chuck!
That’s what happened today and I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome. Chuck at Comic Con 2010—here I come!
A massive fan campaign is underway to earn NBC’s Chuck a Season 3 pick-up — and it has even found series star Zachary Levi himself stepping behind the counter of a Subway sandwich shop in London to assemble footlongs for scores of fans. As shown in the video, Levi remarks while standing before a fervent crowd, “You see, NBC? This is what happens when you might cancel a show that people care about!”
On the occasion of Chuck’s season finale (Monday at 8 pm/ET), Levi spoke with TVGuide.com about his relationship with super-hot secret agent Sarah, working with amazing guest stars, and the “game-changing” twist to come.
TVGuide.com: Were you surprised that Chuck and Sarah had an all-too-quick make-out session in last week’s episode? Have you been happy with the progression of their relationship over the first two seasons? Zach Levi: Chuck and Sarah’s relationship has continued to entice, provoke and, in many cases, frustrate — in the best possible ways — our dedicated audience. And while I can empathize with all of these feelings, I know that it makes for good TV. Move forward in baby steps, make sure its progressing, but keep the fans, and Chuck, wanting more.
TVGuide.com: Do you think Chuck really trusted his dad before he built the machine to get The Intersect out of his head? Levi: I do think so, yes. Really, as soon as he found out the truth behind his dad’s identity, his issues with their relationship, and the past, were for the most part resolved.
TVGuide.com: If the show continues, could we see more of Chuck’s dad? Will he become part of Ellie and Chuck’s lives? Levi: Only the writers could tell you how much more of Chuck’s dad we’ll get. Well, the writers and Scott Bakula’s agent. But if I had it my way, I’d keep him around as much as possible.
TVGuide.com: You’ve had some really amazing guest stars this season. Who kept you on your toes the most? Levi: It’s difficult to pick out any particular guest star as being better or stronger than any other, partly because it’s really so subjective, and partly because I’d hate to be accused of playing favorites. But by saying nothing I’d be missing an opportunity to point out that Tony Hale, though more of a recurring character than a true guest star, is one of the most talented people I’ve ever worked with. Pick an episode, any episode, and you’ll see his talent shine.
TVGuide.com: Which episode this season was overall the most fun to film? Levi: If I had to pick one, it would be “Chuck vs. The Dream Job.” Being able to work with both Scott Bakula and Chevy Chase for the first time was a bit mind blowing. We find out that Orion is Chuck’s dad … and it didn’t hurt that I finally got to wear some cool spy gear.
TVGuide.com: Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak have said the season finale is “game-changing.” Can you give us a hint at how the show would change in Season 3? Levi: Since there is no possible way of expressing the game-changing element of the finale and how it will affect a third season, you’re just going to wait and see for yourself. Praying for another season wouldn’t hurt either.
I know that a lot of people are getting anxious about the fate of Chuck and have been asking what they can do to help it get renewed. Your answer: write NBC a letter telling them what the show means to you and why it deserves a third season.
Some things to mention when writing your letter: talk about the amazing cast and the brilliant work that they do, the different forms of media you use to watch the show (NBC.com, hulu.com, iTunes, Amazon), the various Chuck merchandise that you have purchased, and whether or not you are a Nielsen viewer.
If you are an international fan of the show, don’t think that a letter from you doesn’t matter because you are outside of the US. It does matter. Your letter will show them that the show is loved and enjoyed by many around the world. You can talk about the same things– how the show brings you joy and why it should be back next year.
The most important thing to remember is to be respectful. There is no need to be rude to the people that are making the decisions and that have given us two incredible season so far.
With that said, you can mail your hand-written, if not, at least signed letter to the address (es) below:

Chuck’s dad, played by Scott Bakula, is named Stephen J. Bartowski
Big Mike is bangin’ Morgan’s mom.
Big Mike is possibly going to upgrade Morgan’s employee status at the Buy More
It’s funny to hear Emmitt Milbarge say “Well bring it on bitches!”
Awesome has a bachelor party that John Casey actually attends! The strippers are not what they had hoped for so I’m thinking Jeff and Lester had something to do with it?
Agent Forrest seduces Captain Awesome and it looks like he enjoyed it.
We saw scenes from versus the Beefcake, which airs tonight.
While outside of the Ellie and Chuck’s apartment, we see Sarah telling Chuck, “Ellie is watching, we better sell it.” Hmm… rough times for Charah?
Charah moment: Chuck to Sarah: “I just want to be able to tell Ellie the truth. About who I am and what I do and how I really feel about you. I can’t believe how much the United States government has hurt the people that I love.”
Sarah: “Well maybe it’s time for the United States government to help you.”
Sarah helps Chuck find his dad. Before Chuck’s dad opens the door to his trailer, it looks like Chuck and Sarah were having a little moment.
The last time Ellie saw her dad was when he told her he was going to go make some pancakes.
Chuck talks to Ellie about forgiving their dad because he’s all they’ve got. What does this mean? No Mama Bartowski? Where are all the moms at?
Another Charah moment: Chuck: “I am going to get this thing out of my head, one day I will, and when I do, I will live the life that I want with the girl that I love.” Me?
Arnold Vosloo is a bad ass who asks Chuck why he would tell his team not to bring guns on a mission. Chuck answers: Guns make things too easy and I like my spies to be tough. Queue Casey firing his gun at Arnold Vosloo’s character. Chuck to Casey: “You had a gun?” Casey to Chuck: “I always have a gun.”
Chuck to possibly go in a bunker? Or does Beckman just want a ‘hang out’ buddy?
Ted Roark has a scene where he tells his men to kill the CIA agent (Chuck). Stephen Bartowski replies: he’s my son! To that TR says: “Congratulations! Kill his son.” Read the rest of this entry »
