I believe that “The Nacho Sampler” episode was a filler episode after they had gotten their 13 eps. and was then granted 6 more. The writers had completed the 13 and then had to squeeze in 6 more with mini arcs of story plot.

They were shooting episode 9 when they got the six episode pickup.
Way over-analyzed.
And I know there is a warning about adult language,
but the amount of amount of f-words is ridiculous. Do you not know any other words?

Please give examples of the over-analyzing.
The F-words were actually too few and far between. Need more of them.
Wow I actually agree with you on most parts here… I don’t buy Sarah liking the Shaw kissing her neck at all 0_o She stared at him as if he had a second head and three extra limbs then she sort of likes it? If that’s her ‘liking it’ face then that’s why Chuck never gets any at all because she smiles at him. When she looks completely disgusted she really likes it. Hence her secret desire for Jeff and Lester (She was serious in 1.09 obviously).
I thought the episode seemed a bit disjointed too. I really don’t get how they made this whole big deal about Sarah not being able to get with Chuck because of it being dangerous for the spy life, then have her do exactly the same thing with Superman. Unless there is a plot twist where she’s using this guy because she can get her rocks off while shunning deeper feelings for Chuck, or some jealousy thing with Lana Lang, this just wouldn’t make sense. Half of the draw of this show is the sexual chemistry between Chuck and Sarah. If this thing develops, I hope it dies before it gets too tired. Maybe this guy will end up being part of a twist that throws Sarah for a loop when he’s exposed as a RING agent or something like that.
I don’t get the hate with the episode, have people just not lived life? These kinds of things happen all the time in REAL life, which is extremely arbitrary sometimes. Attraction isn’t something you can mathematically analyze or predict.
And just because people don’t like who ends up with who, well – we don’t always get what we want in life, this is a perfect example of how life Really is.
Why not trust that the writers know what they’re doing and will take you on an interesting season? Why question every minutae that doesn’t please you specifically? Just accept the show for what it is, and let it play out – it’s way way too early in the season to be jumping all over the episode analysis business. Chuck like a lot of shows has an ongoing series of story arcs, one episode alone isn’t the end of the whole story unless it’s the season finale.
People complain the stories are too predictable, you introduce a twist they dont like and they complain about it. You play it safe, and they complain about it. Why even bother having any stories at all, people will just whine so what’s the point?

The complaints had nothing to do with who ended up with whom. It was about believability. And television shows are not projecting real life. There is a story telling approach to each and every shift that this show tends to utilize. However, sometimes, when it is convenient for them, they ignore it. I think that was the problem with this episode. It wasn’t believable.
I think most of the people on the podcast liked many parts of the episode but not those final 15 minutes. I don’t think a single person on the podcast complained about Chuck and Sarah not being together.
Did you notice the very quick wardrobe change of Sarah’s Character in the opening? She was in her Frozen Yogurt uniform at the Buy More and then changed to a purple top/dark pants just outside the hatch at the museum. This was done apparently before Chuck made it into the museum. Their budget must be low so they can not go back and fix continuity issues.
There was talk about Sarah’s quick change of feelings toward Shaw and I think the surprise was inhanced not just because she threw away the stir stick, or confronted Shaw about the unsolicited attention but because Sarah’s face showed relief at the Museum when Shaw exused himself so that the cover was not blown. She seems to lighten up when Chuck is around.
Did you also notice the date on the banner for the revealing of the Mask? March 5 – March 30 a full month ahead of the air date, so my thoughts are that maybe they wanted an extra episode for transition between “HACK SAW” but ratings and budget played a part and they did what was necessary to get from Point A- Point B before the Olympics. Maybe I am reading into this too much but it makes sense.
Something about Morgan…..he too seems to lie quite easily. First to Chuck about getting the bottom of “his breakfast” when Chuck wakes up to Ellie talking with Morgan. I would like that Chuck would have thought it very very strange that Ellie would come to talk with Morgan and not him, considering Ellie feels that Morgan is still a bad influence on Chuck’s growth into adulthood. Morgan was also able to quickly lie to the imposter Curator “Ring Operative” on the phone when Hannah did not want Chuck on the job and at the end of the episode when Chuck and Hannah are caught making out. I’d like to see where his character goes.
Isn’t it strange that Hannah would go into the vault to fix a computer? She was previously in the control room and would know that there is nothing she could do in vault to fix a computer problem. Again continuity issues.
Chuck/The intersect is definitely gaining respect from Team Bartowski because twice in this episode Casey listens to Chuck about not using explosives and Sarah’s confidence was unwaving. In the past Casey would have ignored Chuck and went with the easiest plan and Sarah would have been Chucks safety net even in the Castle like in Chuck vs. First class where she piloted the plane. Version 2.0 improved Chuck’s abilities but Chuck has made better choices on how to use those skills. This episode also redirected the audience back to Chuck’s initial above average computer skills. This was also matched by Hannah’s abilities and showed us that she is his equal in that regard.
The Curator also knows Chuck’s identity and so what happens to him? and if the ring operative didn’t leave and saw Shaw why did he not come back sooner with guns and stop everyone? Loose Ends.

The date has no significance. Originally, The Mask would have been an April 5th or 12th episode. They moved the start of season 3 up by 2 months.
Also, ratings have nothing to do with the episode being written that way. They are shooting episode 16 right now. They shot The Mask four months ago. They just wanted to squeeze in all that in one episode. It just didn’t work well.
Hannah going into the vault is not a continuity error. She was directed there by the client.
Knowing Chuck’s identity is no big deal. Every spy organization knows that Charles Carmichael is a spy. They just don’t know that he is the Intersect. As for the spy not coming back… well, I think you will find that out soon.
