To sit back and observe the way in which “CHUCK” was renewed was simply remarkable. I am so blessed to be a part of producing something that, when it appears to be at risk of disappearing, those loyal to it join in solidarity and literally speak, march, work, buy, share and will it back into existence. To know that such a huge part of our saving grace was comprised of the media and circle of critics, allows me to appreciate it even further. I’m proud of our crew, and I’m proud of what we’re a part of bringing to all of you. But most importantly, I’m proud of you, those that fought. Because not only did you resist the apathy that befalls anyone faced by such adversity, you did so by believing your words and actions mean something. That you mean something. And I hope you know that, to us, you always do.

Love & Blessings. zac Viva la Nerdalution

But how will we survive until March of 2010? NBC needs to get cracking on those S2 DVDs. Tons of extras, commentaries, promo clips, etc. Including the ones that weren’t on, but should have been on the S1 set. All of those people that stood up and said #savechuck will race out to buy them and get their friends hooked with them.

Someone needs to create a big Thank You card to the person (Wendy, if I remember correctly) that came up with the “Chuck vs The Footlong” campaign. We all owe her a huge thank you.

You are AWESOME…the show is Awesome!

Glad it will be back. We have a house of “Nerds” ready to Chuck-out when it returns.

    Good luck!

I am overjoyed from news of Chuck renewal. I was prepared to crawl into a dark hole & disappear if it was canceled. The efforts of fans has truly been amazing, and I can honestly say I would not have done it for any other show. March will be a long wait, but anything is better than cancellation news! Woohoo! We did it!

Chuck is such an amazing (or should I say AWESOME), hilarious, light-to-watch tv show! The cast literally completes Chuck in every way! Sara, Casey, Morgan, Anna, Lester, Jeff, Big Mike, Emmit, Awesome, Ellie, Orion, Bryce, General Beckman and most importantly Chuck, you guys not only bring a smile on my face every time I chuck in a random episode of Chuck but literally make me crack up! Keep it up and keep making us Chuck-le!

  5. I am so happy to hear of the renewal! Of course on AFN Europe, we’re just about to start season 2 (tomorrow!), so it will be a long time before I see season 3. Also, as the wife of a military member, I just wanted to say thanks for doing the USO tour. That’s awesome of you.

Thank YOU Zac. Thank you, the writers and all the crew, for giving us some top quality entertainment. For giving us a thoroughly enjoyable escape from the pressures of everyday life.

You all mean a lot to us too. :)

So glad Chuck was saved! One of the most unique shows on television. My whole family loves Chuck. We love Zac too…he makes Chuck who he is.

  11. Diane says:

With all due respect to Ryan McPartlin, Zac is the epitome of Awesome! Love him, love the cast. Love the creators, the writers and the crew. Glad that each and everyone of us could do our small part to help the show. From what Ben Silverman said, it really appears to have made a difference! Just wish it wasn’t such a long wait. It’ll be like Christmas in March when the show finally does come back!

Zach, on behalf of the members of the GG Chuck group, let me extend our congratulations. As I wrote in a letter (on my letterhead with my real name) to Silverman and Bromstad, it is a function of the terrific acting you, Yvonne, and Adam, and the entire wonderful ensemble, together with the outstanding writing, that makes the show a pleasure. I think that the show was saved by the efforts of you, Sepinwall, the fans, and Subway, lol. I hope that is not lost on Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak.

Now we have an incredibly long hiatus. Other than wonderful Fan Fics, I hope that the Producers and you will collaborate (if agents and unions are willing) on webisodes (dramatic ones, not the flawed ones on the NBC site at present) that might advance the show or give us something over the next 10 months. While I think it would have been preferable for the show to have 22 eps on Friday at 9 starting in the fall, having 13 and the possibility of 9 more over the summer might be attractive. (However, 8 p.m. on Mondays is awful at any time, given the competition.)

One thing. Schwartz’ interview on Ausiello was a total bummer. It is/was typical of his teaser triangle stuff. Since we fans are partially responsible for allowing him and Fedak to have salary and profits for another season, could perhaps he be persuaded not to play with our heads until at least when the show is about to air. There’s only so much “head playing” one can stand.

Finally, why is Shades of Ray no where to be found in NYC theatres? When will it be shown and where?

    Again, congratulations on the renewal.

    Rick Holy Reply:

Brother (or Sister), anon4utu – can’t tell by your screen name – you are ABSOLUTELY CORRECT with your third paragraph comment. THE TEASER TRIANGLE STUFF HAS GOT TO STOP!! (Unless of course is a “Jeffster” triangle). If they don’t have some “character development” in terms of “relationship development” with Chuck and Sarah, this show is going to go down the tubes. After two Season 1 with Chuck/Lou and Sarah/Bryce, and Season 2 with Chuck/Jill and Sarah/British Spy Hunk, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!! You can’t go from Chuck telling his dad, “I love her!” and Sarah being interrrupted before she could complete the sentence, “Chuck, I don’t want to save the world, I want to save YOU!” – back to the on again/off again stuff from Seasons 1 and 2. If they try and pull that cutesy “teasy” stuff, they are going to royally tick off the loyal, devoted fans who, let’s face it, had a huge part with saving the show.

It’s not saying that the Chuck/Sarah thing is going to be “Ellie/Awesome II,” but they can surely start to explore in the show a “real realtionship” between Chuck and Sarah, and not just the “cover/fake” stuff. (Afterall, even General Beckman came to the conclusion that their strong feelings for each other is an “asset to the Asset.”). You can’t go back from where Season 2 ended and go through all the on again, off again, we can, we can’t stuff. Try it, and you’re likely to have even the devoted fans switching channels to the horrible “Dancing with the Stars!” (Heaven forbid!)

So PLEASE, tease all you want, but if you start rehashing Season 1 and 2 stuff in regard to the development – or NONdevelopment of the Chuck and Sarah relationship, it shows that this show will go nowhere in Season 3. AND WE WANT AT LEAST A SESON 4, TOO – if not a 5 & 6 as well!!! Don’t reward hard working fans who have not only written letters and signed petitions but have truly put their MONEY where their mouthss (re: Subway) and hearts (re: AHA campaign) are – not to mention buying all the Season 1 DVDS and now the Season 2 – plus all the CHUCK shirts, hats, mugs, etc. Throw us a bone for God’s sake – and that bone has GOT to be the Chuck/Sarah thing moving forward in some way, shape or form!!

THANKS!! CHUCK rules!! We love the show. Just don’t torture us anymore, or after three seasons some of us may start slipping away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Nessa Reply:

I completey agree with you!! There can’t be another Jill or Lou in Season 3 (that sounds so right . . . season 3!!! Yeah!!) K, sorry I kinda got side tracked, anyways having someone get in between Chuck and Sarah will definitely get some of Chuck’s loyal fans angry, me included!

    Jen Reply:

I agree too!!! The show would be more appealing to have Chuck and Sarah actually involved with each other!!! Make them an official couple! We can handle it!!!

I just have to say, you are a class act. It is great to see an actor who takes the time to communicate with fans and who shows such gratiousness toward his fan base. I am blow away by how eloquent you are in this post and in your blogs from the Middle East USO tour. Speaking of which, another feather in your cap for that tour as well. It sounds like it was an awesome experience and you showed grace under adverse conditions. Your comments about our men and women in uniform show again what a class act you are.

I have, on more than one occassion, compared you to my favorite actor, Jimmy Stewart. I think you show much of the same poise and grace as that great man.

    Kudos and cheers.

So the sad fact is that we don’t get TV. Not that it matters so much in this day and age, what with Netflix and superpowered internet connections and DVDs and the signals that aliens are beaming into my brain. *cough* Never mind that. Anyway. My point is I didn’t actually start watching Chuck till my nephew made me borrow his season 1 DVDs, about the same time that the season 2 finale was airing. I’d heard of the Subway campaign, in a vague sort of way. I remembered Zac Levi from Less Than Perfect. I was living under a rock, otherwise.

I missed out on saving Chuck.

The speaking, marching, buying, working, all that. I came late to the game, and since the Curse of Random is that every show I love gets canceled, for a while there I was a bit mad at my nephew for introducing me to Chuck before its fate was settled.

But the willing. Ach gott, the WILLING. I willed my butt off, man. I sent furious, all-caps mind-messages to the NBC heads. I watched interviews on YouTube and fell a little bit more in love with Zac every day and watched Firefly to compare Jayne to Casey and blogged about it and made my parents and my best friends watch the show and caught myself up with the second season and stood in awe (in AWE, mind you) of how the talent had progressed. I LOVE THIS SHOW. Vital portions of my brain were employed in willing it to continue existing, to the point that I actually forgot how to speak English for the larger part of a week and was reduced to communicating in bastardized Klingon. I had campaigned for Pushing Daisies, which got unceremoniously dumped. I did nothing for Chuck, nothing physical at least, and IT LIVES. So I owe all you sandwich buyers out there a debt of gratitude for doing what I was unable to. This is a seriously long-winded comment. Sorry. Excitement makes me ramble.

I also watched “Less than perfect”. It will soon be aired again on Life Time.

This is why we love Zac. What a great guy

I’m happy to be part of such a great campaign.
Thank you to Zac and the rest of the cast and crew for giving us such an awesome show to look forward to every week.

I know it’s a long wait but I’m sure season 3 will be well worth the wait

  20. Wendy says:

Thank you Zac and all the cast, crew, and creative team behind Chuck, for giving us a show that’ so unique and joyful that it inspired us to rally behind it. You made us care and in a cynical world, that is no small feat. Can’t wait to see what Team Chuck has in store for S3.

Also, thanks for taking the time to participate in the USO tour and especially for sharing your experience with the fans. For someone who likes to play the fool, you’re extremely eloquent ;-)

  21. Halley Smith says:

Here are a couple of suggestions for the Powers At Be that suggested Chrarah difficulties for Season 3. The first is if Josh Schwartz wants to slow down Chuck and Sarah’s Relationship or perhaps what the fans see, there maybe away of doing so without enraging us fans. Since Sarah already said that her apartment has no surveillance in it, maybe the cameras should end showing them in the hallway going into the apartment and the door closing. So we fans see that they are together sort of, but we aren’t seeing what we want to see. Hence the storyline continues and the desire of the fans to get through that door.

The second thought which would be quite hysterical if it worked the way I envision it. Assuming the Powers At Be move Sarah and Chuck in together as part of the continued cover. General Beckman realising that it will be difficult in keeping them apart allows them to be together, but only when it is determined by Casey to be safe which will depend on that particular week’s mission. How would Casey keep Chuck and Sarah apart? Simple install one of those shower heads(like the one Casey used to wash off the poisonous powder in Chuck Versus The First Date) right above the bed. I can just imagine Chuck giving out his girlish screams and Sarah sternly yelling “Casey!”. Of course Casey would get carried away with using it which would drive Sarah and Chuck crazy. And in turn Sarah and Chuck would find ways to drive Casey crazy. This would keep them somewhat apart in a very hysterical way, but move the storyline forward

chuck is my favorite show. on earth. ever. I don’t know how I ever would have survived if it had been canceled. I bought subway footlongs. I sent nerds & letters & donations. I forced all of my friends to watch chuck on hulu & nbc (not very hard to do, since after about 5mins they were all hooked!)…… and it makes me so happy to think they might just have made a difference.

zachary levi is amazing, both as chuck and in his own life. and this letter to the fans is just so awesome — makes me feel like all of our crazyfan efforts, no matter how small they seemed at the time, added up to something SO BIG! we love you, zac, and the rest of your incredibly talented cast & crew. I will continue to be loyal & faithful to chuck for as long as it is on TV (which I hope will be a very long time!)

here’s looking forward to what I’m sure will be an amazing & exciting season 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know that this is like his thank you letter to us, the fans… But all I can say, Zac, is thank *YOU*! without you, and the rest of the crew, there wouldn’t be such an amazing show worth saving. we did this for you, because we love you and your cast and your incredible show. thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!

Chuck has been Must See TV for me since the first teaser I saw before season 1. You guys put out such a wonderfully entertaining hour of television week after week – I can’t wait to watch season 3 (and hopefully many more seasons) of this AWESOME show!!!
