A Big “THANK YOU” to everyone who participated in the Footlong Finale Subway Campaign!
Posted by Michelle in CHUCK, FAN CORNER, MEDIA, PHOTOS, Save ChuckWendy Farrington, the genius who came up with the Footlong Finale campaign to save Chuck, took a few minutes to thank everyone who participated:
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!
My deepest gratitude to all the wonderful Chuck fans out there who helped me nurture the Finale and Footlong campaign and who worked so hard to spread the word and took the time to participate. A special thank you to Zac Levi for being AWESOME and believing in the idea. It’s one thing to see an idea take shape on the net, but it was one of the most special experiences of my life to see my idea come to fruition with all of those Chuck fans in Birmingham last weekend, with Zac leading the charge. (I’ve attached a couple pictures from that day.) I’m not an overly emotional person, but when I saw that crowd lined up outside Subway on Sunday, I had to struggle to compose myself…so thank you all.
I truly feel that the various Save Chuck campaigns were really helpful in getting the show some additional press and exposure at a critical time frame. As for the Finale and Footlong thing, it was all really last minute and thrown together, but Chuck fans stepped up and made it happen. You all took one crazy girl’s idea and made it into a statement…and I think they heard us, so again…THANK YOU! I am exceedingly proud to be a part of such a wonderful and dedicated fandom. Cheers and here’s to another wonderful season of Chuck…hopefully!

Thank YOU for coming up with the nifty campaign! AS soon as I read it…all I could think of was how yummy my subway sandiwch (footlong roasted chicken breast) would be on the day of the finale.
holy catfish he is tall!
)
No, thank you Wendy it was (IS) a GREAT idea!
We have to keep it up until we get a season 3!
You rule!
Wendy – we have you to thank. Keep the dream alive.
Thank you for the inspiration and believing that we can save Chuck! Not only was it Footlong Finale but now it’s Footlong Monday’s (and I definitely just got back from getting my Subway sandwich)! This campaign is huge and will only get bigger as we spread the Chuck love to the world! Let’s save Chuck!
Thank you and God Bless!
Any word from Subway as to whether or not there was a boost in sales? Did they notice the effort?
I’m proud to sayI was there. And it felt so amazing to be a part of it. Thank you to the organisers, Zac and of course to the Subway employees that day. It must have been a little scary when we all traipst up that day, at least they had a little warning we were coming lol
Does anybody know what the count is to how many people ate the 5 dollar footlong thing for Chuck?

Pretty sure that Zach does as I think I heard him ask the manager if they had the figures and it looked as if the manager said he did. There were also some people who nipped off to the other Subway at the NEC and bought footlongs there then came back to the one where we were.

The final tally for sandwiches sold in Birmingham last Sunday was about 200 subs. I haven’t heard any official numbers from the Monday April 27th Finale and Footlong drive, but Mack Bridenbaker (Subway PR guy) did tell me that they saw an increase in sales and that Monday was their best sales day of the week. They won’t give us any direct sales numbers because that type of info is private, but I’ll be hitting him up for some more quantitative sales info (like percent increase over other Mondays in April) tomorrow. It takes time for them to crunch numbers. He did say that they’re received thousands of emails, comments, and calls from Chuck fans. Madison Avenue has definitely taken notice…which can only be good for Chuck.
Thank you Wendy. I didn’t hear about the campaign until the 29th, and have been to Subway every day since to show my support for Chuck.
Here are a few people to contact to get “Chuck” renewed…and keep up the Monday Subway campaign.

I definitely went out and got a Subway footlong last Monday, and I plan to tonight again!
People like you rock Wendy, because there are a lot of shows that have been canceled in the past, that I would have liked to see given another chance. We need people like you to get the ball rolling so we don’t lose quality television!
Footlong Monday from here on out, at least until Chuck is renewed. (And it will be;) And, given how tasty their sandwiches are, I just might have a sub every Monday anyway
Heya, just chiming in to say that my whole family ate Subway last monday night for dinner, while watching the finale of Chuck. No comment box, so I told the manager why I was there.
Just wanted to add my thanks to YOU Michelle (as well as Zach, of course) – for those of us who participated on the 26th in Birmingham, it was AWESOME! It really was a hight point of the convention. And I have shown the clips to lots of work colleagues, friends and family – and told them all about Chuck! Even more viewers…
Great Idea! We have to save Chuck. The new season SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the new season…………….hahahahahahah………
Keep us informed on the status of the show. Here’s to Season Three!
I think I have to thank you, we don’t have Subway where I live in Italy but I was at the convention (T1 rocked!!) and I was one of the 200 that stayed (spelling?) at the Subway where Zach (he is really amazing) made the sandwiches for us all till the end (you can see me in the picture you posted I’m the one on the left side who’s distracted ;-p), I also had a t-shirt made to commemorate (spelling?) the event, if I can figure out how to do it I’ll post a link to the picture of it. Me and my sister also partecipate to the footlong finale as we where in London for a couple of days after the convention (we watched the episode with the “magical wings”
and eating a Subway sandwinch).
Thank you Wendy for the awesome idea! Thank you Zach for being awesome!

Does it still help to get a Sub and leave in the comment box a note about Chuck?
Great campaign and I still buy Subway every Monday. I come home and stream Chuck from NBC or Hulu so the numbers stay up. Everything else on sucks!
Here are some details about our latest charity campaign-please help spread the word!
Just wanted to let fellow Chuck fans know that we are stepping up our efforts and started the “Have a Heart-renew Chuck” campaign. We have chosen Subway’s partner charity, the American Heart Association, as our next effort to support our favorite show. Details can be found at http://weheartchuck.blogspot.com/
All the pertinent step by step instructions are there. Please join us in supporting a great charity, a great sponsor, and an AWESOME show! Please spread the word! Save Chuck!
That was a fantastic campaign, good job Wendy!! I got the footlong sandwich at one of the Subways on the
16th Street Mall, the employee there told me he didn’t know about ‘Chuck’, he never watched it, I told him how much fun it was, and that he should watch the finale that evening, I also told him that Zachary Levi and I are
friends on Facebook, he told me to have alot of fun watching the ‘Chuck’ finale!
I guess that WE should THANK you ;]. Great idea.. and I have to say… Zach is just AWSOME.
Actually, I’m gonna use your idea and all this mobilization to make an academic study :]
